Network Segmentation Lab
Proxmox + Open vSwitch VLANs, controller flows, and OPNsense rules with controlled inter-VLAN policies.
I’m Seppe, Applied Computer Science (Cybersecurity) student at Howest and founder of DigiGoose.
Currently: network segmentation, web security & forensics plus real-world builds.
Stack: Linux, Docker, OVS, Java/Gradle, Vue, NGINX, TLS/PKI, WAF & DFIR tooling.
My name is Seppe Geysen, and I’m an Applied Computer Science student specializing in Cybersecurity at Howest University of Applied Sciences. I’m passionate about building secure, reliable, and meaningful digital environments that connect people and technology.
Within my studies, I’ve developed a strong foundation in network infrastructure, server administration, and ethical hacking. Courses such as Network Infrastructure Security, Linux Server Security, and Web Security & Honeypots have allowed me to translate theoretical principles into hands-on experience through realistic lab environments. I’ve configured VLANs and Open vSwitch in Proxmox, deployed and secured web services with NGINX and TLS/PKI, created custom dashboards in Kibana using Filebeat logs, and analyzed forensic evidence from USB devices and ext3 journal files.
I enjoy combining technical problem-solving with creativity and clear communication. Whether I’m writing scripts, analyzing packet captures, or explaining a technical concept to non-technical users, I always focus on clarity, structure, and usability. My approach to cybersecurity is not only about preventing threats it’s about creating systems that people can trust and understand.
Beyond my studies, I founded DigiGoose, a small-scale IT and web design company where I apply my technical knowledge in real-world contexts. Through DigiGoose, I’ve learned to work with clients, manage projects, and implement secure, responsive websites using Bootstrap, Vue.js, and NGINX.
In the future, I aim to grow into a role that combines technical expertise, ethical awareness, and human understanding whether as a cybersecurity analyst, system engineer, or consultant. I value professional connections that encourage continuous learning, exchange of ideas, and collaboration across disciplines.
I’m always open to connecting with professionals, students, and mentors who share a passion for technology and its role in creating positive impact.
